On May 3, 2017, the Fairfield County CAN partnered with CT Legal Services to present a Fair Housing Training at City Hall in Norwalk.

Nilda R. Havrilla, the Managing Attorney of the Housing Unit at CT Legal Services' Bridgeport office presented a training on the in's and out's of Housing Law, tailored to some of the needs and issues often faced by clients here in Fairfield County.

Attorney Yamini Menon co-presented this training with Nilda, which explored topics such as affordable housing, subsidized housing, eviction, the rights and responsibilities of tenants and landlords, Section 8, supportive housing, housing protections, and housing discrimination.

The training was engaging, informative, and well-attended, with approximately 70 community staff present, including CAN appointment staff, client navigators, and housing case managers.
